The Resurrection Project : Story of unlucky Scientist

The Resurrection Project

David was fascinated by life and death ever since he was a child. He loved his mother dearly, who encouraged his curiosity and supported his dreams of becoming a scientist. But when he was 12 years old, his mother died of a mysterious illness that no doctor could diagnose or cure. David was devastated and felt helpless. He vowed to find a way to bring her back someday.

He lived with his father, who tried his best to raise him and comfort him. His father was a mechanic who worked hard to provide for David's education. He was proud of his son's intelligence and ambition, but also worried about his obsession with death. He hoped that David would find happiness and peace in life, not in the past.

David excelled in school and won a government scholarship to study biotechnology at a prestigious university. He was determined to pursue his goal of resurrecting the dead, even if it meant breaking the laws of nature and ethics. He secretly conducted experiments on animals and human cadavers, trying to find a way to reanimate them with artificial organs, nanobots, and electrical stimulation.

He made some progress, but not enough to satisfy him. He wanted to restore not only the body, but also the mind and soul of the deceased. He believed that there was a hidden code in the DNA that could unlock the secrets of life and consciousness. He needed more resources and more subjects to test his theories.

He decided to apply for a grant from the Resurrection Project, a clandestine organization that funded radical research on life extension and revival. He submitted his proposal and waited for a response.

One day, he received a phone call from an unknown number. It was a representative of the Resurrection Project. They were impressed by his work and offered him a chance to join their team. They had access to advanced technology, unlimited funds, and a secret facility where they could conduct their experiments without any interference or scrutiny.

David was ecstatic. He accepted the offer without hesitation. He packed his bags and left his father a note, saying that he had an opportunity to work on a breakthrough project abroad. He did not tell him the truth, fearing that he would disapprove or try to stop him.

He boarded a plane and flew to an undisclosed location. There, he met his new colleagues, who were all brilliant and ambitious scientists like him. They welcomed him warmly and showed him around the facility. They had everything he could ever dream of: state-of-the-art equipment, cutting-edge materials, and a large supply of human bodies donated by willing volunteers or obtained from dubious sources.

David was assigned to work on Project Lazarus, the most ambitious and controversial experiment of the Resurrection Project. The goal was to revive a human being who had been dead for more than 10 years, using a combination of genetic engineering, cybernetics, and neural implants.

The subject was a woman named Sarah, who had died in a car accident when she was 25 years old. She had signed up for cryopreservation before her death, hoping that someday science would find a way to bring her back. Her body had been frozen and stored in a cryogenic chamber for over a decade, until the Resurrection Project acquired it.

David was in charge of restoring her cellular functions and repairing her DNA damage. He worked tirelessly for months, using sophisticated techniques and tools to manipulate her genes and cells. He managed to reverse the effects of aging and decay, and make her body look as if she had never died.

He was amazed by her beauty and grace. She reminded him of his mother, who he still missed terribly. He felt a strange connection with her, even though she was still unconscious and unaware of his existence.

He wanted to wake her up, to see her eyes open and hear her voice. He wanted to talk to her, to learn about her life and dreams. He wanted to make her happy, to give her a second chance at life.

But he knew that it was not enough to revive her body. He had to revive her mind as well. And that was the hardest part.

He collaborated with other scientists who specialized in neuroscience and artificial intelligence. They designed and implanted a device in her brain that could stimulate her neurons and synapses, and create artificial memories and emotions.

They used data from her social media accounts, online profiles, personal documents, and interviews with her friends and family to reconstruct her personality and identity. They tried to make it as accurate and realistic as possible, but they also had to make some adjustments and modifications to suit their purposes.

They wanted to make her loyal and grateful to the Resurrection Project, and willing to cooperate with their agenda.

The Resurrection Project (Part 2)

David was so focused on his work that he barely noticed his colleagues, except for one: Alice. She was a young and talented engineer who worked on the cybernetic components of Project Lazarus. She was also the only one who showed genuine interest and concern for David.

She admired his brilliance and dedication, and tried to get closer to him. She often invited him to join her for lunch, coffee, or drinks. She complimented him on his achievements and encouraged him to take breaks and relax. She made him laugh with her jokes and stories.

She also sensed his loneliness and sadness, and tried to comfort him. She listened to him when he talked about his mother and father, who had both died when he was young. She shared her own experiences of loss and grief, and how she coped with them. She told him that he was not alone, and that he had a friend in her.

She gradually fell in love with him, and hoped that he would feel the same way. She decided to confess her feelings to him, and ask him to be her boyfriend.

She waited for the right moment, when they were alone in the lab after hours. She approached him with a smile and a gift box in her hands.

"Hey, David. I have something for you." She said.

"What is it?" He asked, looking up from his computer screen.

"It's a surprise. Open it." She said, handing him the box.

He opened it and found a silver necklace with a pendant shaped like a heart. He looked at it with curiosity and confusion.

"It's beautiful. Thank you. But why did you give me this?" He asked.

"Because I love you, David. I love you more than anything in the world." She said, looking into his eyes with sincerity and passion.

He was stunned by her confession. He did not know how to react or what to say. He felt a mix of emotions: surprise, confusion, guilt, fear.

He liked Alice as a friend and colleague, but he did not love her as a lover. He did not think he could love anyone that way. He had been hurt too much by death, and he did not want to hurt anyone else.

He also had another reason to reject her: Sarah. He was still obsessed with reviving her, and he felt a strange attraction to her. He wanted to be with her, even though she was still unconscious and unaware of his existence.

He did not know what Alice knew about Sarah or how she would react if she found out about his feelings for her. He did not want to cause any trouble or drama in the lab.

He decided to politely decline Alice's offer, hoping that she would understand and respect his decision.

"Alice, I'm sorry. I appreciate your gift and your feelings, but I can't accept them. I can't be your boyfriend." He said.

"Why not? Don't you like me? Don't you care about me?" She asked, hurt and disappointed.

"I do like you and care about you, Alice. You're a great person and a great friend. But I don't love you the way you love me. I'm sorry." He said.

"Is there someone else? Is there another woman in your life?" She asked.

He hesitated for a moment, then lied.

"No, there's no one else. It's just me. I'm not ready for a relationship right now. I have too many things on my mind." He said.

"Like what? Like your work? Like your dead mother? Like your dead father?" She asked, getting angry and bitter.

He was shocked by her words. He felt a surge of pain and anger in his chest.

"Alice, how can you say that? How can you be so cruel?" He asked.

"I'm sorry, David. I didn't mean to hurt you. But I'm hurt too. You're hurting me by rejecting me." She said.

"I'm sorry, Alice. But I can't change how I feel." He said.

"Fine then. Have it your way. But don't expect me to be your friend anymore." She said.

She turned around and walked away from him, leaving him alone with the necklace in his hand.

He felt a pang of regret and guilt for hurting her feelings. He wished he could have handled the situation better. But he also felt relieved that he had avoided a complicated relationship that could have jeopardized his work and his goal.

He put the necklace in his pocket and went back to his computer screen. He resumed his work on Project Lazarus, hoping.

The Resurrection Project (Part 3)

David worked harder than ever on Project Lazarus, hoping to achieve his ultimate goal of reviving Sarah. He ignored Alice's attempts to reconcile with him, and avoided any contact with her. He also ignored his own health and well-being, and neglected his basic needs. He became obsessed and isolated.

He finally reached a breakthrough. He managed to activate Sarah's brain device and stimulate her neural activity. He monitored her vital signs and brain waves, and waited for a sign of consciousness.

He was overjoyed when he saw her eyes open and blink. He rushed to her side and greeted her with a smile.

"Hello, Sarah. My name is David. I'm a scientist who works on the Resurrection Project. You're in a lab where we've been trying to bring you back to life." He said.

She looked at him with confusion and fear. She did not recognize him or the place where she was. She did not remember anything about her past or who she was.

"Who are you? Where am I? What's going on?" She asked.

"Don't be afraid, Sarah. You're safe here. You've been in a cryogenic chamber for over 10 years, after you died in a car accident. We've been working on restoring your body and mind, using advanced technology and science. We've succeeded in reviving you, Sarah. You're alive again." He said.

She was shocked and incredulous by his words. She could not believe what he was saying or what he had done to her.

"What? That's impossible. That's crazy. How can that be? How can I be alive again?" She asked.

"It's true, Sarah. It's a miracle of science. You're the first human being to ever be resurrected from the dead. You're a pioneer, Sarah. A legend." He said.

He tried to calm her down and explain everything to her in more detail. He told her about the Resurrection Project, its goals and methods, its achievements and challenges. He told her about the device in her brain, how it worked and what it did to her memories and emotions.

He also told her about himself, how he became a scientist and joined the project, how he worked on her case for months, how he felt about her.

He told her that she was his mother.

He did not tell her the truth, that she was not really his mother, but a woman who looked like his mother, who he had chosen as his subject because of his resemblance to his mother.

He did not tell her that he had manipulated her genes and cells to make her more like his mother, that he had implanted false memories and emotions in her brain to make her think and feel like his mother.

He did not tell her that he had lied to everyone else in the lab about his relationship with her, that he had hidden his true motives and intentions from them.

He did not tell her that he had betrayed the Resurrection Project, its rules and ethics, its mission and vision.

He did not tell her that he had committed a crime against nature and humanity, a crime against life and death.

He did not tell her any of these things, because he did not want to lose her again.

He wanted to keep her with him forever.

He wanted to be happy with her.

He wanted to be alive with her.

The Resurrection Project ( part 4)

Sarah had been living with David for a few days. He had told her that he was her friend and that he had saved her from a car accident. He had also told her that she had lost her memory and that he would help her recover it.

Sarah was grateful to David, but she also felt uneasy. She did not feel any connection to him. She did not remember anything about her past. She did not know who she was. She felt like a stranger in her own body.

David tried to make Sarah happy. He took her to the park, the zoo, the museum, and the movies. He bought her clothes, jewelry, and flowers. He cooked for her, played music for her, and read books to her. He told her stories about their supposed friendship and how much he cared for her.

Sarah smiled and nodded, but she did not feel anything. She felt like she was playing a role in a movie. She felt like David was hiding something from her. She felt like he was obsessed with her.

One day, Sarah found a photo album in David's closet. She opened it and saw pictures of a woman who looked like her. She had the same hair, eyes, and smile. She was wearing the same clothes and jewelry that David had given her. She was posing with David in different places and occasions.

Sarah was shocked and confused. She realized that David had lied to her. He had not saved her from a car accident. He had brought her back to life. He had manipulated her genes and cells to make her more like his mother. He had used her as a replacement for his dead mother.

Sarah felt sick and angry. She confronted David and demanded an explanation. David admitted everything and begged for her forgiveness. He said that he loved her more than anything and that he could not live without her.

Sarah rejected him and tried to escape. David panicked and grabbed her. He said that he would not let her go. He said that he would make her love him.

They struggled and fought. Sarah managed to break free and run to the door. She opened it and ran outside. She saw a busy street with cars and people. Sarah sprinted across the road without looking and met the same fate as before: she was hit by the same truck that had ended her life in a previous accident. David could not believe his eyes as he witnessed the tragedy.

David was devastated when Sarah died again. He blamed himself for not being able to save her. He decided to try one more time to bring her back to life. He took her body to his secret laboratory and injected her with a new serum he had developed. He hoped that this time, he could fix her brain and make her happy.

He waited anxiously for the serum to take effect. He watched as Sarah’s chest started to rise and fall. He felt a surge of joy and relief. He ran to her side and held her hand. He whispered in her ear, “Sarah, can you hear me? It’s me, David. I love you.”

Sarah opened her eyes slowly. She looked at him with confusion and fear. She did not recognize him. She did not remember anything. She screamed and pushed him away. She jumped off the bed and ran to the door. She tried to open it, but it was locked.

David followed her and tried to calm her down. He said, “Sarah, please, don’t be afraid. I’m here to help you. You’re safe with me.”

Sarah shook her head and backed away from him. She said, “Who are you? What have you done to me? Where am I? Let me go!”

David realized that his serum had erased Sarah’s memory. He had lost her forever.

David tries everything to bring Sarah back to to her previous stage. He had used advanced technology, ancient rituals, and even dark magic. But nothing worked. Every time he resurrected her, she would die again in a different way.

He realized that he was fighting against the natural order of things, and that he had no power over life and death. He finally accepted that Sarah was gone forever, and that only nature was the true god who decided who should live and die. He buried her body in a peaceful place, and hoped that she would forgive him for his obsession.
